Born in New York on June 10, 1983. Liliane Rudabet Gloria Elsveta Sobieski caught the attention of a casting agent. He noticed her while scouting the cafeteria of a New York City private school. He asked Leelee Sobieski to audition for a role in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994). Leelee Sobieski lost the role to Kirsten Dunst, but that didn’t stop her.

When Leelee Sobieski was 13, she co-starred in the TV movie Reunion, which aired in 1994 with Marlo Thomas. Next year Leelee Sobieski starred in A Horse for Danny . Even though she did quite a few roles in many films, she hit the big time in 1998, when she did Deep Impact starring opposite Elijah Wood. Deep Impact got Leelee great reviews and brought her to the attention of many casting directors. Then she did Joan of Arc, which was shot in the Czech Republic.  Leelee Sobieski got an Emmy nomination for Deep Impact.

In Eyes Wide Shut, which was shot under strict secrecy by the notoriously reclusive Stanley Kubrick, had Leelee cast as a teenage nymphet who tempts Cruise’s character. Eyes Wide Shut didn’t turn out to be quite the summer blockbuster as it was expected to be. Leelee Sobieski, did however, get some good reviews. While shooting the film she developed a friendship with Stanley Kubrick and was heartbroken when he died soon after its completion.

Leelee also starred with Drew Barrymore in Never Been Kissed, Diane Lane in The Glass House and Josh Hartnett & Chris Klein in Here on Earth.
